The Role

At First Wealth you will have the opportunity to grow and to help us grow too. You will be working alongside some of the best Financial Planners in the profession, within a multi award-winning, B-Corp certified, Chartered firm.

At First Wealth, the Technical Analyst role is the heartbeat of any successful team and your main role responsibilities will be to support the Financial Planners when informing and advising clients on financial strategies, plans and products.

You must be able to demonstrate your technical expertise and in turn support and upskill your other team members with any technical activities as well as running and managing your team’s workflow. You are responsible for supporting the Financial Planners in ensuring our clients receive the best possible advice.

The role has huge scope for client facing interaction, offering you the opportunity to develop and refine your presenting and soft skills in client meetings, which is the ideal training ground if becoming a Financial Planner is your goal.

We will also be considering candidates with aspirations to becoming Head of Technical for the company.

Home Working and Flexibility

First Wealth is committed to flexible working, whether that be start/finish times or working from home/in the office. We provide you with the necessary equipment to work from home, as well as offering all of our team members an allowance of £250 to kit out their home office with whatever they choose.

All that we ask of you is to manage your own time effectively and to ensure your work is completed.

As a Technical Analyst you will be expected to be in the office if and when you are required to attend client meetings/company events.

Required Skills

  • At least Level 4 Diploma qualified, with a view to continuing on towards Level 6 Chartered qualifications

  • 2 years + experience in a similar role

  • To demonstrate our core values at all times

  • Promote our five-star client service and be willing to go the extra step to achieve this

  • Excellent team working and liaison skills

  • Continue to develop knowledge of products and related issues through formal and informal learning

  • Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)

  • Ability to work under pressure and to deadlines with the ability to manage workflow and delegate tasks effectively

  • Accuracy of work and attention to detail

  • Thorough knowledge of products including pension transfers, tax planning investments including EIS, SEIS, VCT and BPR and structured products, research and analytical tools

  • Experience of Voyant is preferred but not essential.
