An opportunity has arisen for an experienced full time Paraplanner to work with one of our advisers. We offer holistic financial planning and as such a good relationship between paraplanner, adviser, and client is paramount to our process in ensuring the best advice is offered to our clients. The role will involve being a crucial point of contact for our clients as well as supporting the adviser to prepare review paperwork and following the advice process through to completion. The role will primarily be working out of our Aylesbury office, but some flexibility and home working may be considered for the right candidate.

Duties and Responsibilities

The candidate will be highly organised and be responsible for a wide range of duties including:

  • Technical research including portfolio analysis, pension switches, tax planning

  • Preparation of advice and information for client meetings

  • Preparing suitability reports

  • Liaising with clients and responding to queries

The candidate will need to use the following software:

  • Adviser Office or X-Plan or Intelliflo

  • Lifetime cashflow planning

  • Financial Express Analytics

  • Selectapension or O&M

  • Defaqto Engage

  • Exchange

What does the successful candidate look like?

  • The candidate should either hold a Level 4 Diploma qualification or be very close to completing it.

  • With a minimum of 3 years’ experience as a Paraplanner.

  • You will have the ability to explain financial concepts to others in writing and verbally.

  • Confident with numbers with a full attention to detail.

  • Interested in people and able to converse with those from all backgrounds.

  • Comfortable in asking questions to understand client motivation.

  • Experience of writing suitability reports.

  • You will be compassionate, empathetic, and supportive of clients. A key part of the role is building great relationships with our client families which also involves supporting them through challenging life events.

  • The ability to work without direct supervision is essential as is the ability to work as part of a small team within a wider organisational structure.

  • A willingness to adopt the technology, systems and processes used within the wider organisation is also required.

Essential Skills:

  • The right to work in the UK

  • Competent with Microsoft Office programmes including Outlook

  • Fluent in both written and spoken English

  • Diploma status or evidence of progress in obtaining it

  • Experience in using some or all of programmes and software mentioned above

Salary and Benefits

  • Salary £30,000 - £40,000.

  • Permanent position.

  • 28 days holiday + bank holidays and public holidays.

  • NEST workplace pension with 5% employer contribution.

  • Quarterly CPD session with the whole company for professional and corporate development.
