Job Description

Penney Ruddy & Winter are a Chartered Financial Planning Firm, based in the City of London.

We are looking for an experienced Paraplanner to work closely with our financial planners. The role would entail attending client meetings and being involved in the full advice process.

The position is full time and predominantly office-based.

The Person

  • The ability to think like a planner

  • Technically skilled, particularly in the areas of investment and pension taxation

  • Comfortable meeting clients

  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written

  • Strong attention to detail

  • Ability to follow procedures and maintain compliant files

  • Happy to integrate into our small, close-knit team

The Role

  • Working with the directors of the company to support the onboarding of new clients and ongoing reviews for existing clients to ensure accurate, compliant, timely information and advice is provided

  • When requested attend client meetings with the directors to record key data and discussions to enable follow up work to be scheduled and completed, working alongside the directors and other team members as necessary to ensure successful delivery

  • Preparing cashflow modelling scenarios

  • Preparing client risk reports using output from risk profiling and cashflow modelling

  • Conducting analysis and research, requesting additional information as necessary to enable detailed presentation and analysis of a client’s financial situation and options

  • Constructing financial planning and technical reports, liaising closely with the directors on making suitable recommendations and as necessary gaining compliance sign off

  • Preparing cashflow models, portfolio reports and other useful summaries for use by the directors in the review meetings, attending alongside when requested

  • Assisting with technical work including pension annual allowance/carry forward calculations, CGT calculations, lifetime allowance options and taxation information to complete tax returns

  • Ensuring accurate recording and maintenance of systems / databases at all times

The Package

  • Salary of £50,000 to £60,000 per annum, depending on experience and qualifications
