What is an Associate Planner?
As part of our Financial Planning team, you'll work closely with other Financial Planners in your planning pod. Working alongside your lead Financial Planner, you'll help provide our clients with financial planning advice and ensure they receive excellent service from Emery Little.
You'll report to a designated Financial Planner within your planning pod.
Key responsibilities and accountabilities
Supporting client conversations
As part of our Financial Planning team, you'll help manage a portfolio of clients. Your role will include:
Working with Financial Planners to prepare for client meetings, ensuring you understand each client's situation and identifying areas needing action, such as gaps in Know Your Client information, planning opportunities and relevant tax changes
Creating comprehensive meeting notes that highlight actions, compliance requirements and insights about the client that help us serve them better year after year
Sharing all follow-up actions with clear information so our support teams can complete their tasks efficiently
Collaborating with the Financial Planning Team to help existing and prospective clients make confident decisions about their financial future and implement recommendations
Your aim is to develop strong client relationships, preparing for the time when you'll become their Financial Planner. As your experience grows, you'll gradually take on a more active role in client meetings.
Professional financial planning
You'll be essential to the team that builds and manages clients' financial plans and ensures our Advice and Review processes meet our high standards. This involves:
Working with Financial Planners to develop financial planning strategies that you'll eventually present under supervision
Collaborating with Financial Planners and the support team to create clear, technically accurate and compliant financial plans, cash flow forecasts and suitability reports
Working with the support team to monitor and complete appropriate suitability reports based on client needs
Conducting research independently and with colleagues to identify suitable client solutions
Ensuring all advice meets regulatory, ethical and compliance obligations
Using client and Financial Planner feedback to enhance our reports and communications
Leading new client Introduction Calls with appropriate support
Conducting one off financial planning conversations with children of clients/Family Acorns once you've completed supervision
Improving our service
You will be part of the team ensuring clients receive the excellent service we promise. Working with our experienced Paraplanning and Client Servicing teams, you'll:

Share ideas to improve our processes and client relationships
Provide feedback to help the Financial Planning team develop

Previous experience in financial planning firm
Exam progression started toward diploma
What we can offer
Salary £30,000 – £50,000 dependent on previous experience and exam progress

This would be a hybrid role working between home and within our Camden office, 2-3 day split
